Service Description

Young artists will explore the beautiful and expressive world of watercolor painting in this week-long introductory folk art camp designed for homeschool children ages 6–12. Through guided lessons, creative experimentation, and nature-inspired projects, campers will learn how watercolor can be used to create soft landscapes, botanical illustrations, woodland creatures, and imaginative works of art. Students will learn foundational watercolor skills including color mixing, brush control, layering, wet-on-wet painting, wet-on-dry techniques, gradients, texture effects, and simple composition. Throughout the week, campers will complete several finished nature-based projects inspired by forests, gardens, insects, flowers, birds, and seasonal landscapes. This course encourages creativity, observation, and confidence while introducing children to artistic techniques in a relaxed and supportive environment. Each child will leave with a collection of completed paintings, new artistic skills, and a deeper appreciation for handmade art and the natural world. At the end of the week, families will be invited to a special student art showcase where campers can proudly display their watercolor creations in a celebratory gallery-style exhibit. No prior painting experience is required. All materials are included.
